Auwal Hamza replies Mayas with a nail on the head
RE: LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY THE EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF ADAMAWA STATE RT HON AHMADU UMARU FINTIRI BY ASSISTANT PUBLICITY SECRETARY APC ADAMAWA STATE BY MUHAMMAD AUWAL HAMZA
I took this time to reply your letter to the Executive Governor Adamawa state as a patriotic youth not as a member of the PDP and as well as knowing you to be a colleague of my father in 2003 when you served as a development area Administrators under the Administration of Gov Boni Haruna. The only reason why I saw the need to reply your letter first was because you have acknowledged to the fact that electing Gov Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri by the majority of electorates of Adamawa state was based on track records of good governance and purposeful leadership which was also why you were with him 2014.
I respectfully agree to your admission that you opposed the election of the executive Governor despite your knowledge of his capacity and track records of good governance, and I love the fact that despite being the assistant publicity secretary of your party you never saw the need to say anything until now, even when your Administration was killing this state. This shows that your criticisms is purely political and it shows how hardworking you are as assistant publicity secretary of the your party.
As a former appointee of the Governor you acknowledged to the fact that he was more of a servant than a leader, he spoke less and listened more and he listens to objective criticisms even without congent reasons, he operated open and transparent Government that welcomed meaningful advise or criticisms. Six years on you could still recall how disturbed he gets during campaign rallies whenever he sees youths acting as political thugs just because the system refused to give them opportunities to bring on board their ideas for the greater good of the state entirely.
You still recalled how emotional he gets about the unity of the state and his vision which was untimely trampled upon by the opposition within for cheap political gains. But today you've totally concluded to the fact that all these values are no more with the Governor, notwithstanding you acknowledge to the fact of how he gave the state capital and beyond a facelift within a month of acting Governor in office but today you claimed that the Governor has no single project intitated and completed since his inauguration.
Sir, closing your eyes to the fact that for the first time Adamawa state Government has a spread of developmental projects across the 21 LGA of the state throughout the sectors of the economy of the state cannot erase the impacts in the hearts of the electorates. I cannot show you anything with your eyes deliberately closed let alone listening and understanding facts and figures of my assertions. But the fact that none of the projects he initiated 2014 got completed by the end of his botched administration until he left office never deterred you from believing in him and his policies shows that you're a patriot with thirst for development for his people just like the Governor. Even though you was a part of the failed APC administration which the people kicked out of office because of it's absolute failure in delivering good governance to the masses.
Like you made mention of his attention to civil servants and subsequent payments of their hard earned two months outstanding salaries by Former Gov Nyako which generated emotional Labour Union rally at Ramat College two days to the run off elections in 2014 is still in your memories, this was what nick named him the ATM Governor at that time. Im proud to inform you that today Gov Ahmadu Umaru Fintiris new nick name by the labor union is the 23-24 Governor, because he has never failed to pay salaries on every 23rd or 24th of a month since his coming into office unless if the date falls on weekends. This is no blind followership but purposeful leadership which has and is still giving priority to the state civil service because they're the backbone of the states workforce.
When the opposition at the time came up with the stories about his intentions of breaking the Fulani calabash and myths about plans of building a church within Jimeta main market against the wish of the occupants, you have claimed to have worked tirelessly to counter the opposition at the time. Furthermore as his then Adviser on information and public affairs you organized a live radio program with ABC Yola in order to clear the air on the sensitive issue that almost consumed his political ambition at that time and it was successful based on his confirmation to you on phone call as you made mention. You did that based on clear conviction and patriotism to your people and your state entirely and based on honest believe of the message you passed that day despite the fact that he never told you what to say, until now I'm sure that you have never regretted that act because you didn't had to lie in order to prove his innocence.
The vision he had for the state, the feelings he had for the unemployed youths and the calmness of Government-Labour relations which he managed to build in 2014 was a clear example of good leadership style which was open and transparent, the unity of the state he was advocating for, projects allocations to communities based on their needs and priorities, his humbleness and realistic approach to community problem is missing in his today's method of leadership you say but
Might I remind you that His Excellency has exhausted all his campaign promisses within the shortest period of time and has given a sense of belonging to each and every tribe and religion, this has fostered unity throughout the state like never before. But I cannot show you anything with your eyes deliberately closed.
You brought about youth and related it with the unfortunate employment of 10,000 workers who were disengaged by this Administration, the employment that was manufactured from the bedrooms of cabals and shared between their relatives and children. The same employment that was made after loosing elections and backdated in order to evade burocratic scrinity because they knew it didn't follow due process. What is wrong is wrong and what is right is right, nobody can blackmail the Governor into doing the wrong things in order to evade your criticism. If you know who Fintiri is, then you know he's not a coward.
Like everyone is entitled to his own opinion Senator Ishaku Abbo is entitled to say his mind, this a civilized Democratic setting and Gov Fintiri is doing his best to uphold the tenants and principles of democracy. Who is the Fulani Gov Fintiri is fighting if I may ask you?
You made mention of borrowing in your criticisms, let me inform you that for the first time in the history of the state the Governor has placed mechanisms in place to service every debt he has accrued using the states IGR. If this had been in existence during the last administration, he wouldn't have had to inherit a debt profile of over over 115BN on the state coffers. The Bachure road you made mention is just 3km out 18 km of roads he first awarded throughout the state capital, lately i have lost track of the number of roads His Excellency has awarded just within the state capital let alone combined with the rest of the 21 LGAs where he's constructing roads, add that to almost 400km of rural roads he has constructed throughout the state. I can only explain it to you but I cannot understand it for you.
With free WAEC and NECO, prompt payments of scholarships, reintroduction of boarding school feeding, payment of 2017 to 2020 UBE matching grants, our educational sector has been repositioned to be the best in the entire history of the state.
If there wasn't work ongoing throughout the 21 LGAs of the state, you could've been right to call the flyover construction a white elephant project. If civil servants were starving due to lack of salaries I would've agreed with you that the flyover is needles, but today with the construction of flyovers and 2000 houses the state is still financially stable, sometimes I wonder where he gets all these monies from. Your APC Administration concentrated on just roads within 4 to 5 LGAs with Paris club refund and bailouts, but we went through a time when civil servants spent almost a year without salaries and I neither heard your voice nor saw your open letters to the then Governor. I'm sure you was observing table manners then.
I didn't want to say anything about party problems but I wish to inform you that your party lost it's 2019 election because of your combined failed leadership as party Ex cos and your leader Sen Bindow Umaru Jibirilla, there was a never a time when a ruling party in Adamawa state got worse than that and up till date your party has remained without magnitude and direction. Rather than looking for flaws elsewhere I advice that if your party continues this way it might never win even the seat of a councilor in this state come 2023, and for your information these might be your last few days as the assistant publicity secretary of the APC together with the rest of your colleagues because rumours has it you're about to be dissolved by your National Working Comitee.
Gov Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri is building the Adamawa of today and tomorrow, your kind of shallow criticisms cannot distract him. I assure you that no matter how far you go with your criticisms against the Governor nobody would take it personal let alone threaten you. Our media space is no mans land, so you're always welcome and free to criticise him and his policies, while we'll always be here to give you a befitting response.
